Boon takes part in European Beer Star for the first time and seizes two medals
The European Beer Star is organised since 2004 and has grown into one of the world’s most important beer competitions. Yesterday the winners of the 2021 edition were announced in Munich. Geuze Boon Mariage Parfait won gold in the category 'Belgian-style Lambic & Geuze'. Framboise Boon came in second in the fruit beer category.
“Each brewery was allowed to enter one beer per category. We submitted a total of two beers: Geuze Boon Mariage Parfait and Framboise Boon. Witnessing both beers being awarded is just wonderful”, said Karel Boon shortly after the award ceremony. “Whenever we participate in a beer competition, we tend to win with our gueuzes. Time and again, its quality is confirmed. Apart from the first place for our Geuze Mariage Parfait, we are also pleased that our Framboise won a silver medal. Fruit beer is a heavily fought segment worldwide. Taking silver in that category remains a very nice achievement.”
Geuze Boon Mariage Parfait and Framboise Boon have already been awarded earlier this year. At the World Beer Awards 2021, both beers won a silver medal.
