Seven Lindemans Beers awarded at the World Beer Awards 2026, including World’s Best for Lindemans Kriek 0,0%

At the 2026 World Beer Awards in London, Lindemans Brewery delivered an outstanding performance, with seven beers receiving medals across several categories, including one World’s Best, three Country Winner titles, three gold, two silver and two bronze medals. Lindemans Oude Kriek Cuvée René, Lindemans Apple, and Lindemans Kriek 0,0%, not only won gold in their respective categories, but were also named Country Winner Belgium. Furthermore, Lindemans Kriek 0,0% was crowned “World’s Best” in the “No & Low Alcohol, Sour & Wild” category, making it the best beer in the world in this category.
 
As an authentic lambic brewery with over two centuries of brewing tradition, these awards underline Lindemans Brewery’s strong reputation within the world of traditional lambic beers and fruit lambics. We are also particularly pleased that our more modern beer innovations, including our alcohol-free beers, have achieved first-place awards and other medals, demonstrating that innovation and tradition can go hand in hand.

Lindemans Kriek 0,0% was awarded Gold and Country Winner Belgium in the “No & Low Alcohol - Sour & Wild” category. To top it all off, the beer was also crowned World’s Best, making it the best in the world in this category. Lindemans was the first lambic brewery to launch an alcohol-free Kriek 0,0%, marking a new chapter in the brewery’s rich tradition. Using the same amount of freshly pressed cherries and an innovative brewing process, this completely alcohol-free variant retains the recognizable fruity and refreshing character of Lindemans Kriek.

“With Lindemans Kriek 0,0%, we wanted to prove that you don’t have to compromise on flavour when brewing alcohol-free beer,” says Geert Lindemans. “The fact that it has now been crowned World’s Best is a wonderful recognition and confirms that innovation and our tradition can go hand in hand perfectly. We are particularly proud that our alcohol-free Kriek can now call itself the best in the world in its category.”
 
Lindemans Oude Kriek Cuvée René received Gold and Country Winner Belgium awards in the “Sour & Wild Beer - Kriek” category. This traditional Oude Kriek combines a blend of 1- and 3-year-old lambic with whole Schaarbeekse cherries and undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle. As a result, the beer expresses the authentic character of traditional fruit lambics, with a dry finish and a balance between fruitiness and fresh acidity.
“We are proud that our Lindemans Oude Kriek Cuvée René is recognised at this level,” says Geert Lindemans. “With whole Schaarbeekse cherries and secondary fermentation in the bottle, this beer reflects the lambic tradition that we have been carrying on for generations.”
 
Lindemans Apple received Gold and Country Winner Belgium awards in the “Sour & Wild Beer - Fruit Lambic” category. This fruit lambic combines the sweetness of red apples with the fresh, slightly tart flavour of green apples. The subtle tartness of the lambic creates a refreshing and naturally fruity whole.
“Just like our Lindemans Kriek and Framboise, Lindemans Apple has been at the heart of our fruit lambic range for many years,” says Dirk Lindemans. “This recognition confirms the enduring appreciation for our fruit lambics.”
 
Lindemans Framboise was awarded Silver in the “Sour & Wild Beer - Framboise” category. This fruit lambic combines the flavour of raspberries with the gentle tartness of lambic, resulting in a lively and full-bodied fruity character.
“Lindemans Framboise has been a staple of our range for over 45 years,” says Dirk Lindemans. “This award underlines the enduring appreciation for its distinctive raspberry character and refreshing lambic note.”

Lindemans Goyck was awarded Silver in the “Sour & Wild Beer - Sour & Wild Ale” category. This mixed-fermentation beer was developed in collaboration with Toots Brewery. Combining a top-fermented beer with traditional lambic creates a balance between fresh acidity, malty notes and a subtle hoppy bitterness.

“With Goyck, we bring two brewing traditions together in a single beer,” says Geert Lindemans. “This award confirms that mixed-fermentation beers also deserve a special place within the world of lambic.”

Lindemans Tarot Noir 8% won Bronze in the “Sour & Wild Beer - Fruit Lambic” category. This strong fruit beer combines traditional lambic with top-fermented beer and dark forest berries to create an intense and layered flavour profile, in which fruitiness and fresh acidity complement each other.

“Lindemans Tarot Noir 8% represents our ongoing quest for new flavour combinations within the world of lambic,” says Dirk Lindemans. “This award demonstrates that innovative interpretations of lambic are also appreciated internationally.”

Lindemans Pecheresse 0,0% won Bronze in the “No & Low Alcohol - Sour & Wild” category. Thanks to its fruity peach notes and refreshing character, this beer brings the flavour of the classic Pecheresse to a completely alcohol-free alternative.

“With Lindemans Pecheresse 0,0%, we’re demonstrating that a completely alcohol-free fruit beer can be just as refined and full of character,” says Geert Lindemans. “This recognition confirms that alcohol-free fruit beers are also appreciated internationally.”
