Lindemans Launches Gueuze Dark Cuvée René: A Tribute to Craftsmanship and Tradition
Limited Edition in Honor of René Lindemans' 85th birthday
Lindemans Brewery proudly presents Gueuze Dark Cuvée René, an exclusive beer created to celebrate the 85th anniversary of René Lindemans, the fifth generation of the family brewery. This bold blend made from roasted wheat and aged in cognac barrels is available in limited quantities, with only 20,000 bottles produced.
René Lindemans was not only a master brewer, but, together with his late brother Nestor, he was also a visionary who put the family brewery on the international map. Driven by their ambition, the brothers introduced the fruitier kriek and other lambic-based fruit beers, laying the foundation for the brand’s worldwide recognition.

An Innovative Interpretation of Gueuze
The name "Dark" refers to the deep, dark color of the lambic that forms the base of this special Gueuze. This product is the result of an innovative technique: the use of roasted wheat and aging in 20-year-old oak cognac barrels, a subtle nod to René's pioneering spirit.
Gueuze Dark Cuvée René is blended with three-year-old lambic. After a two-year maturation in traditional lambic barrels, the lambic is further refined for an additional year in cognac barrels. The beer undergoes natural bottle conditioning. This creates a subtle balance between the fresh, sour complexity and the warm, elegant touch of cognac."The idea of combining traditional lambic brewed with roasted wheat and aging it in cognac barrels had been on our minds for a while," says Geert Lindemans. "It was a bold choice, but the result is a beautifully complex beer with deep, warm and layered flavors. A perfect tribute to my father."
